Matt & Shannon Ortiz

matt - default pictureMatt:  While growing up, the last thing Matt Ortiz envisioned himself doing was being a pastor. God, however, had different plans for Matt. We’ve heard him say that God “tricked” him into the ministry by giving him a heart for the South Bay and a burden to see people and communities transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Matt said he went from despising the South Bay, to tolerating it, to loving it, and now to calling others to love the South Bay as well. In 2003, with the help of Acts 29 Church Planting Network and other local churches, Matt launched Crossroads Church in Chula Vista. Though the trials and struggles of a church plant have been plentiful, Pastor Matt has maintained his vision of Gospel transformation.  Through a Gospel-centered approach to preaching and ministry, Matt has made it a goal for the church to be an authentic community of grace rejecting phony religiosity and moralism.

ShannonShannon:  Looking for a place to serve? Shannon will find a place for you! Do you have a need and not sure who to talk to? Shannon will direct you where to go. And, if that is not enough, she is the wife of Pastor Matt - which is a job in itself!
