More About Crossroads...

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor." -Isaiah 61:1

"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these...you did for me." -Matthew 25:40

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich." -2nd Corinthians 8:9

Our mission to reach urban San Diego has begun with a new work in National City. Crossroads Church launched itʼs first public service in this multicultural city on Easter Sunday, 2008. Our city has been ranked highest in the county for poverty, unemployment and violent crime. But, it is a wonderful city that is being renewed before our eyes with neighbors and city leaders working together. We have a calling to be a part of that as we bring the Good News of Godʼs grace to a people we love with all our heart.

Crossroads Church is:

  • A Gospel-Centered Church
The gospel is the central theme of the Bible. It all points to the suffering and glory of Christ. It is the story of our salvation that is for both believers and non-believers. We become Christians and grow as Christians by grace through faith in Jesus.
  • A Missional Church
The Gospel calls us to live in mission! Jesus said, "(Father) as you have sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world." Being missional means we are church "for" the city/cuture/people where God has placed us to see it transformed by the power of the Gospel.
  • A Grace Renewal Church
We live and grow by grace through faith in the Gospel of Christ. We resolve to live in ongoing grace renewal--to be "new" people, not just "nice" people--to believe that the Gospel can change anyone--to motivate with grace and not guilt--to solve all problems (personal, church, social) with the Gospel.
